We're kicking off SOL-HER 9 INNOVATION with special guest, Dr. Martha Saladino. 

Dr. Saladino is a long-time S.T.E.M.-her! She's got her bachelors in physics in Mexico at the National University Autonomous of Mexico (UNAM). Then she moved to Europe where she did a joint masters in astrophysics at the Universities of Innsbruck, Austria, Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy, and Goettingen, Germany. After obtaining her PhD in astrophysics in the Netherlands at Radboud University, in collaboration with the University of Leiden, she moved to the UK where she participated in many outreach projects, especially She Speaks Science—a project that aims to engage girls in STEAM via storytelling. After leaving the UK and before joining the Space Telescope Science Institute, Martha Irene worked in industry for a bit, as a Technical Writer and then Project Manager for Google.

Dr. Saladino is an Astrophysicist, Education & Outreach Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI). She'll join us to kick-off our programming in celebration of International Women's History Day on March 8, 2024.
