Oh, how Imagiread hearts Lee & Low Books. The New York-based company is the largest multicultural publisher in the United States, one that genuinely owns the esteemed tagline “About Everyone. For Everyone.” Over the years, Lee & Low has expanded quite a bit with now four imprints, BeBop Books, Children’s Book Press, Shen’s Books and Tu Books. Their books have been praised by the School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, The Huffington Post, New York Times and C-SPAN. All of which is important to parents, or educators, because Lee & Low is one of the few companies that walked into the publishing arena with the same intent they have today, to get more culturally authentic and appropriate reads in the hands of readers who have craved them for years.
This summer Lee & Low put together a Summer Reading List of titles that are sure to please. We’ve read so many on this list and have even starred several as favorites. The rest of them we have put on our list as “to-read asap”. Check out the list for yourself and be sure to check for the ridiculously beautiful bookmark on the last page. Download it here.
