Phew! It’s been an intense few days around here at Imagiread. What a way to start the New Year! Just eight whole days ago we outlined some of the changes that would be forthcoming in Imagiread’s programming starting with READy.SET.GO! We’ve been promising to transition all of our programs online so that Imagireading Families everywhere can enjoy them and that’s going to happen quicker than we initially planned. Thanks to WomensNet and their Amber Grant program; Imagiread was chosen as a qualifying entity and WE WON! If I could explain how I felt to get that email saying that Imagiread was chosen, I’d be a super writing millionaire. It was indescribable to know that I’d just recently promised to forge through no matter what and then be chosen for a grant to do so. S T R A I G H T   U N B E L I E V A B L E! Now I can do everything planned and kick it up a notch starting ASAP!

The first order of business is to get our email series out. In it, we are remixing some of our favorites for families, helping them to carve out family literacy time while being intentional with it. Investing in interactive Family Literacy traditions for the long haul strengthens communal bonds, reduces stress, and encourages academic succession. Imagiread is dedicated to supporting families with creating and celebrating diverse reading experiences to support interactive family engagement and the email series will highlight all kinds of ways to keep it fun and interesting. Sign up to receive the 3-part series here.

Shortly after the email series is released we’ll be celebrating the 4th annual Multicultural Children’s Book Day with not one but TWO glorious reads. Can you say GLOBAL Imagireading? You just did! We are so excited for the MCCBD community as they’ve grown incredible strides since inception. What an honor it is to connect and celebrate with this phenomenal community of diverse kidlit lovers. We’re hopeful to express some of that contentment during our own little celebration. You have to stay tuned for that.

That’s it for now. Be sure to check out the WomensNet piece on Imagiread winning the December 2017 Amber Grant and then head over and VOTE for us to win again. We’ve got so much work to do to assure families stay connected with socially responsible and culturally appropriate literacy development programs. Follow us on Instagram for other surprises and announcements. Thank you so very much for being a part of our Imagireading Family! Do have an imaginative day! 🙂
